Kicking STEM Fest of with a Big Bang!

14/3/2017

Inpress Plastic's Involvement with STEM continues!

Inpress Plastics have yet again showed their commitment to STEM activities in their local community participating at this years Coastal STEM Fest "Big Bang" hosted by Butlins at Bognor Regis.

Inpress attended the event on the 14th March during 'National Science week'. Planning events for students to exercise there skills, Inpress gave students the opportunity to test there design skills with sketching exercises bringing there ideas to life on paper.

“The Big Bang event at Butlin’s was highly enjoyable and self-rewarding as I was able to give back and share some of my chosen career knowledge to the school children to help inspire them towards taking up further education in design. It is very important for events like this to continue providing for the next generation as they are securing the jobs for tomorrow in this industry.”- Jonny

Why STEM matters

“In the 21st century, scientific and technological innovations have become increasingly important as we face the benefits and challenges of both globalization and a knowledge-based economy. To succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEM to levels much beyond what was considered acceptable in the past.” (National Science Foundation) . At Inpress, we understand that engaging students in STEM curricular activities at a young age is critical to support the UK's economic industries and developing new technological advancements. This is why Inpress encourages it's Placement and Apprenticeship schemes, whilst continuing to support its community.
