Inpress Announces the purchase of SHARPAK range

14/4/2020

Inpress Plastics Ltd is pleased to announce the purchase of the SHARPAK range from Nolato Jaycare Ltd effective from 30th June 2020. The range of clinical waste containers is designed to meet the needs of infection control staff globally. SHARPAK was one of the first range of sharps containers to meet the British Standard BS 7320:1990 and the SHARPAK range has grown in popularity ever since.

One of the significant requirements for clinical waste containers is a clear means of indicating when the closure on the container is fully locked. SHARPAK has developed and patented a simple lock indicator system, called VisiLOCK.

VisiLOCK is a simple spring-loaded button that is only actuated when the closure is turned to the 'fully' locked position. The protruding red button is clearly visible, even from a distance. This feature is available on the SHARPAK 18, 35, 60, 120 and 220 containers.

Inpress is buying all the tooling, machines and intellectual property required to make the range. Manufacturing will be housed in the new production space the company acquired in 2019 and result in eighteen new jobs on that site.

Nolato will continue to manufacture the SHARPAK range until the end of June 2020. After that date, the range will transfer and be produced by Inpress at its Littlehampton site.

Henry Powell, Commercial Director of Inpress Plastics commented; “We are delighted to announce the purchase of the SHARPAK range. We see a significant opportunity for growth in this area. We have manufactured the SHARPAK XL and occasionally the SHARPAK 18 for Nolato several years. So, it is an obvious development for us to take over the full range.  The purchase will create eighteen new jobs and is a significant step forward in the growth of our business.”
